Educational Outreach
As part of its mission, the Association seeks to instill an appreciation of music in the school-age population of this area. To do so, we offer three concerts a year to 3rd and 4th grade students from local schools. If requested, students from other grades are admitted as well. The concerts are presented by the same groups that play for the adult audience, and they usually involve
a strong educational component and some questions and answers between the students and the performing artists.
Upcoming (2011-12) Educational Outreach Performances are by
- Chris Burton Jácome Flamenco Ensemble on Friday, October 14, 2011
- Anita Chen on Monday, February 27, 2012
All Educational Outreach performances are normally at 10:30 a.m. (unless otherwise indicated) in the WNMU Fine Arts Center Theater.
Educational Outreach performances are free of charge and the Association pays the transportation costs for students coming from their schools by school bus to the theater if reimbursement is requested by the schools.
